WHAT IS A COOKIE?
Cookies are small text files with a unique number that are
stored in your computer’s browser directory. They are created
when you use your browser and visit a website that uses cookies.
Their main function is to track your activity on the site, helping you
return to the last state in which you used it; they can remember
your username and password, theme selection, preferences, or
other personalization features. The website stores a record (with the same
unique number as the corresponding cookie) in your browser, as previously set by the website.
Through this record, cookies can track and
store information about your experience on the site.
Cookies are often essential for websites that have large databases,
require registration or the use of a user profile, provide
options for customizing the view, and more.
Typically, cookies contain a small amount of information, such as the web address of
the website that created them, their expiration date, and their ID number. Due to the small amount
of information they contain, cookies generally cannot be
used to reveal your identity or personal information.
WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES ARE THERE AND WHAT ARE THEY USED FOR?
Session cookies
These are used, for example, on e-commerce websites so that
users can continue browsing freely without losing
the products they have placed in their shopping cart. Session cookies also help
improve the website’s loading time. They are deleted when you close
your browser.
Technical cookies
These cookies are necessary for the proper functioning of the
website’s system, (for example, between your device and the server).
Persistent cookies
They do not lose their validity when the browser is closed. Their
expiration date may vary, but is usually no longer than 6 months. They are
used, for example, to store your login details so that you do not
have to enter them every time. In addition, they can be used for
personalization and to store visitor preferences, such as
the selected language or currency.
Cookies from third-party service providers
Usually, the origin of cookies corresponds to the name (domain)
of the website on which they are located. This does not apply to cookies from
third-party service providers. In these cases, the cookies are created by the provider itself, which may
be an advertiser, for example. These cookies collect data about your
online habits and interests and can track you across different websites.
They make it possible to determine which pages you visit, in what
order, and how long you stay on them. They are most commonly used to
analyze user visits and interests regarding a specific topic.
HOW TO DISABLE COOKIES DIRECTLY FROM YOUR BROWSER?
Like many websites, we use “cookies” to collect
information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies
or to notify you when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may
not be able to use some parts of our website.
Most browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) are configured to accept
cookies. However, most browsers allow you to control and
even even disable cookies through your browser settings.
If you do not know the type and version of the browser you are using, please click
the "Help" button in the top part of your browser window, from which you can
access all the necessary information. To learn more about
cookies and how to manage or disable cookies from
third-party service providers or marketing/retargeting, visit
www.youronlinechoices.com. To disable analytics cookies and
prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your browsing, you can
download the browser add-on to disable Google
Analytics: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Compared to the information collected by cookies installed directly by
the website, the data controller specifies that the data collected by
cookies from third-party service providers may be disclosed to
entities acting on behalf of the controller, such as processors or persons
responsible for processing, for purposes related to those described above. With regard
to third-party service provider cookies, it should be noted that the purposes of
these cookies, the logic underlying their processing, and
the management of user preferences regarding the
cookies are not determined and/or verified by the administrator, but by a third
party that provides them, as the provider and data controller, as
indicated in this privacy notice.
WHAT COOKIES CANNOT DO
Cookies are simple text files. They are not compiled and cannot
perform any programming functions. They cannot check or scan
your computer, nor can they track you or search for personal information on your
device.
Cookies are safe files and cannot spy on your computer or
gather information about you or your family. Cookies
only allow the website to recognize returning users
on the site.
HOW TO MANAGE COOKIES STORED ON MY
DEVICE
Cookies can be disabled or deleted using tools that are
available in most modern browsers. Each browser’s settings are
unique, and each browser offers different features and
management options. For more information on how to block,
delete, or disable cookies, please review the settings of your
